Patrick Sheridan is a titan in the music industry, renowned for his exceptional skills as a performer, educator, author, and instrument designer. Through his publications and thousands of concerts and workshops, he has captivated millions globally, epitomizing an unwavering dedication to excellence and innovation that has reshaped the musical landscape for musicians and teachers.

 

Heralded as one of the most illustrious soloists in tuba history, Patrick has captivated audiences with thousands of performances in more than 50 countries. Formerly a distinguished member of "The President's Own" United States Marine Band, Sheridan’s spellbinding virtuosity and artistry have been showcased on prominent radio and television broadcasts over his thirty-year career.

 

A true luminary in music education, Patrick's dedication to education is profound. His wind and conducting students hold positions in prestigious international ensembles and serve on the faculties of numerous universities across 30 countries. With a wealth of teaching experience, he has contributed his expertise to esteemed institutions such as Arizona State University, The Royal Northern College of Music, The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and UCLA, where he conducted the Brass Ensemble and Wind Ensemble and taught low brass.

 

His groundbreaking work as the co-author of the acclaimed instructional method, The Breathing Gym®, has revolutionized instrumental improvement, offering millions of musicians a holistic approach to performance success and stress relief.

 

With more than three decades of design and manufacturing expertise, instruments influenced by Patrick’s designs are played in hundreds of professional orchestras, military bands, and chamber ensembles globally. Hundreds of thousands of students from elementary through university levels benefit from instruments bearing Patrick’s design input, with his consultancy roles at XO Professional Brass, Jupiter Band Instruments, Hercules Stands, and Laskey Mouthpieces.

 

Patrick's commitment to music extends to his role as a guest conductor, collaborating with university bands and orchestras as well as all-state and regional honor ensembles nationwide. He is an Honorary Member of Kappa Kappa Psi and a board member of the Western International Band Clinic - University Division. Recently, he was honored by The American Bandmasters Association with the 2024 Edwin Franko Goldman Memorial Citation for his outstanding service to concert bands and concert band music in America.

 

He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan and spends his free time with his family hiking and camping in beautiful Arizona while they tolerate his photography obsession.
