Carrie Schafer
Trumpet
 

Carrie Schafer is a world class trumpet player living in Houston, Texas. Born and raised in the Chicago land area, Carrie has performed in ensembles all over the world and has won 5 national auditions. Graduating from Northwestern University with a Bachelors in Music Performance studying with Barbara Butler and Charlie Geyer, Carrie went on to earn a Performers Certificate from the Colburn School in Los Angeles, California. She went on to hold positions with the New World Symphony, the Santa Barbara Symphony, the UBS Verbier Festival Orchestra in Verbier, Switzerland, the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, and the Houston Symphony. Carrie has been a substitute with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Detroit Symphony. In 2015, Carrie won a Grammy with the St. Louis Symphony with their performance of John Adam’s City Noir.

Carrie currently plays and teaches in Houston.
