Madeline A. Lee
Madeline A. Lee received her Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where she studied horn under the tutelage of Martin Hackleman, formerly of the National Symphony Orchestra, Canadian Brass, and Empire Brass. She is currently a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the Columbus State University Schwob School of Music and is pursuing a Master of Music in Horn Performance with Dr. Natalie Brooke Higgins.
As a performer, she has performed with the Topeka Symphony Orchestra, the Northlands Symphony, the Alias Brass Company as a pianist, and the Music Ministry at the St. Bernadette Parish. Now a resident of Columbus, Georgia, she has been a part of several ensembles at the Schwob School of Music, including the Schwob Horns, for which she has arranged works for a number of public performances. As an educator, Madeline maintains a private horn studio and has worked as a brass instructor at local high schools.
In addition to performing and teaching, Madeline frequently collaborates with the Alias Brass Company as an arranger, composer, and publishing manager. She made her compositional debut with her work for brass quintet, titled Saudade, on their January 2016 tour of California and has arranged a variety of works for their current touring show.
